This programme module aims to provide a learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to understand the complexities of the Irish Tax System in relation to PAYE income and to be able to calculate complex payroll data, manually and through a computerised Payroll system.

To enable the learner to understand the legislation that has been created in relation to PAYE employees.
To facilitate the learner to use and analyse the effectiveness of online Revenue resources (ROS and MyAccount) and to understand the various forms that are generated as a result of editing employee data through the MyAccount system.
To provide the learner with the knowledge to manually calculate pay for employees on the cumulative, temporary and emergency basis of tax. Pay in this instance would include all notional pay such as benefit in kind, gifts and any other taxable benefits.
To enable the learner carry out a mid-year setup of payroll on a computerised payroll package and to set up all employees, payments and deductions and organisational data for employees on cumulative, temporary and emergency basis of tax.
