Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain the knowledge to prepare them for employment in retail display and to prepare them for progression to further study or training in retail management.

Objectives:

Appreciate the importance of good presentation and merchandising skills

Acquire a working knowledge of the theory of visual merchandising and display

Plan and construct a retail display

Follow appropriate safety procedures

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are not grouped into units.

Distinguish between different types of display

Identify the specific areas within a retail unit for display

Define merchandising

Identify the selling positions within the retail unit

Recognise the effect of background on display

Use accessories, fittings and available materials in displaying merchandise

Select and utilise an appropriate composition

Compose thematic display

Understand the effective use and impact of colour in merchandising and display

Use graphics in display

Explain the contribution of light and lighting to display

Mount display with due regard to safety and security

Training Duration:

30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Course Fee:

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

Record System

Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.

Assessment & Certification:

All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

Assessment Briefs:

Assignment: 30%

Project: 70%

Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%

Training Organisation - FAS Approved = 902364.
Tutors listed on the NRT - National Register of Trainers.
