Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to deliver quality customer service in the retail sector and to develop appropriate knowledge and attitudes required to work as a representative in a retail organisation.

Objectives:

  • Understand the role and importance of customer service in a retail organisation

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a representative in a retail organisation
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Acquire the necessary communication skills in order to meet customer service requirements
  • Be familiar with relevant consumer legislation
  • Treat all customers equally regardless of gender, race, religion, culture, marital status, family status, sexual orientation, age or disability
  • Develop good work practices in retail customer service
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: Implementing Customer Service
Unit 2: Resolving Customer Complaints
Unit 3: Improving Customer Service & Business Operations
Unit 4: Implementing Change in Customer Service & Business

30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

  • All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

  • Assessment Briefs:
    • Skills Demonstration: 70%
    • Examination (Oral): 30%
       
  • Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
