Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain the opportunity to explore a range of social issues, to reflect on the nature of interpersonal relationships and to gain an understanding of the personal and social factors which influence their own lives.

Objectives:

  • Acquire knowledge and understanding of a range of social issues which encourages them to develop broad and balanced views

  • Reflect on their own life experience in a variety of situations
  • Explore their attitudes to personal rights and responsibilities in a range of areas
  • Enhance self awareness, self-esteem and assertiveness
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: Contemporary Social Issues
Unit 2: Personal Identity
Unit 3: Personal Growth through Reflection
Unit 4: Assertiveness

30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).
