Payroll Manual & Computerised FETAC Level 6 N32642

Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to acquire the skills necessary to record, edit, interpret and analyse payroll data using manual and computerised payroll systems.

Objectives:

  • Acquire the necessary skills and knowledge of payroll practices which apply to manual and computerised systems

  • Be able to detect and amend errors in data entry and record keeping processes
  • To be able to complete end-of period and end-of-year returns
  • Demonstrate how to record and/or update employees files from given data
  • Analyse data from a selection of reports
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of how three (at least) pieces of legislation impact on the payroll function
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 3 units.

Unit 1: Manual Payroll Processing
Unit 2: Legislation and its Impact on the Payroll Function
Unit 3: Computer Payroll Processing and Reporting

 
Training Duration:

 
40 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

  • Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

  • All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.
     

Assessment & Certification:

  • All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

  • Assessment Briefs:
    • Assignment: 40%
    • Project: 60%
       
  • Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
