Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain an in-depth knowledge of the professional environment of the interior designer with emphasis on legislation, regulations, business organisation and presentation skills.

Objectives:

Develop a knowledge and understanding of regulations and legislation relevant to interior designers

Understand the structure of relevant business organisations

Develop a knowledge and understanding of relevant contracts, tendering, cost planning, programming and project management

Be aware of the ethical standards which interior designers should maintain when working within the industry

Be conscious of personal presentation and display presentation skills within a professional context

Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of design on the environment

Present an organised portfolio of interior design work to a professional standard

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: Regulations and Legislation
Unit 2: Presentation Skills
Unit 3: Business Organisations, Contracts and Procurement
Unit 4: Ethics and Responsibilities of Professionals

Training Duration:

40 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Course Fee:

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.

Assessment & Certification:

All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

Collection of Work: 40%

Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
