Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain the skills and knowledge to support the health, safety and nutritional needs of the older child and adolescent and develop skills that supports the well being and protection of the older child and adolescent.

Objectives:

  • Promote good practice in meeting health and nutritional needs

  • Create a safe environment
  • Raise awareness of factors contributing to well being
  • Understand the responsibilities in caring for the older child and adolescent in relation to child protection
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: Health and Nutrition
Unit 2: Safety
Unit 3: Well Being
Unit 4: Child Protection

 
Training Duration:

 
30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

  • Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

  • All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.
     

Assessment & Certification:

  • All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

  • Assessment Briefs:
    • Short Exam: 20%
    • Assignment: 20%
    • Project: 60%
       
  • Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
