Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain a broad and comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of digital photographic production.

Objectives:

Acquire basic skills of digital photographic production.

Develop an understanding of the inter-relationship between theory and practice of photography.

Work in a disciplined manner to participate successfully as a member of a professional team.

Develop an awareness of digital photography as a contemporary medium of communication.

Develop critical skills through the practice of digital photography.

Engage in projects that promote cross-disciplinary work.

Develop the skills of photographic manipulation.

Be able to store images appropriately.

Carry out printing and presentation of their work.

Prepare a portfolio of work suitable for presentation.

Develop an awareness of a range of jobs and careers available within the photographic industry.

Enhance creativity through the practice of photography

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 3 units.

Unit 1: The Camera
Unit 2: Post-Capture Production
Unit 3: Digital Photographic Storage, Printing and Presentation

Training Duration:

30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Course Fee:

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.

Assessment & Certification:

All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

Collection of Work: 50%

Project: 50%

Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
