Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain an understanding and be able to explore a range of issues concerning consumer entitlements, redress and basic consumer law, and will practise the personal skills involved in decision-making, information-gathering and assertive communication.

Objectives:

  • Explore consumer rights and responsibilities

  • Become aware of the factors which influence a consumer's entitlements to redress
  • Make an effective case as a consumer, responding appropriately to problematic situations
  • Practise assertiveness and communication skills
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: The Consumer
Unit 2: Shopping
Unit 3: Safety
Unit 4: Making your Case

20 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).
