Computer Aided Draughting (2D) FETAC Level 5 A20012

Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain an understanding of the role of computers as a design tool for architecture, engineering and interior design.

Objectives:

  • Be familiar with computer-aided draughting [CAD] design software package

  • Be confident users of computer design technology
  • Be able to use computer-aided draughting from the stage of early design concepts to hardcopy working drawings
  • Develop safe working practices when using the computer and be aware of legislation covering software licensing and data protection
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 4 units.

Unit 1: CAD Software
Unit 2: Edit Commands
Unit 3: Application of Blocks
Unit 4: Use of Multiple Layers

 
Training Duration:

 
30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

  • Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

  • All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.
     

Assessment & Certification:

  • All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

  • Assessment Briefs:
    • Collection of Work: 50%
    • Project: 50%
       
  • Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
