Training Aim:

To enable Learners to develop core skills in community development practice. It promotes the ability of learners to work effectively in community development settings and integrate all elements of practice.

Objectives:

  • Have gained experience and skills in research, planning, organising and reviewing specific community development activities

  • Explore culture, systems, structures and issues in communities
  • Reflect on the roles taken on in community development contexts
  • Reflect on their abilities and aptitudes in community development
  • Actively promote their own learning and development as community activists
  • Demonstrate good practice in working in community
     

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 3 units.

Unit 1: Personal Awareness
Unit 2: Community Consultation and Profiling
Unit 3: Skills for Community Development

 
Training Duration:

 
30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

  • Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

  • All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.
     

Assessment & Certification:

  • All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

  • Assessment Briefs:
    • Skills Demonstration: 60%
    • Project: 40%
       
  • Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
