Training Aim:

To enable the Learner to gain a general understanding of the main elements of law that impact a business. The focus of the module is on both the theoretical basis for business law and on the practical applications in a business organisation.

Objectives:

Gain a basic understanding of the Irish legal system

Gain an understanding of the impact of legislation on the business environment

Gain an introduction to principles of the law of contract

Gain an introduction to the principles of law relevant to a range of business practices (e.g. company law, consumer law, conveyancing)

Outline Training Plan:

The specific learning outcomes are grouped in 15 units.

Learners must complete units 1 and 2 and select a minimum of 3 others from units 3-13.

Training Duration:

30 hours approx (depending on Learner's prior knowledge/existing skills).

Upon request (discounted group and FÁS/CE participant)

Record System

Access Database, as approved by FETAC.

All results are recorded on our database and comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.Project and Examination.

Assessment & Certification:

All assessment is devised by the Internal Assessor, with external modification by FETAC.

Assessment Briefs:

Assignments (2) 60%

Examination (Theory Based): 40%

Grading: Pass 50- 64% Merit 65% - 79% Distinction 80-100%
